a small number of ultra-wealthy donors have an outsized influence on American politics, corruptly impacting our elections and our government and making it harder for regular people’s voices to be heard.

The Problem

The Solution

Congress must pass the Abolish Super PACs Act (H.R. 2352 and S. 4602) to stop corruption and prevent the ultrawealthy from bypassing individual contribution limits.

Rep. Summer Lee and Rep. Ro Khanna have introduced the Abolish Super PACs Act. U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders has introduced a companion bill in the Senate. This bill will prevent corruption and the appearance of corruption by reinstating contribution limits on independent expenditure committees. This proposed bill would limit contributions to political action committees to $5,000 per donor, effectively abolishing super PACs. By eliminating super PACs, federal elections would become more accountable to voters rather than being controlled by a handful of billionaires and corporate donors.
